HEALTH AND TRAVEL INSURANCE

All foreign students are required to obtain health and travel insurance to cover themselves throughout the period of your travel and study in Thailand. If the students do not have existing health insurance that meets the requirements, the student may consult with the International Service Center for asssistance in purchasing coverage with the insurance providers in Thailand. Please have a general medical and dental checkup before coming to Thailand. If you have any chronic health problems or conditions, for example, asthma, diabetes, heart disease, eczema, gastrointestinal and muscle and joint problems, please carry a letter from your doctor explaining your condition and the treatment.

Upon your arrival, please record your health insurance information online for central database to assist you in any emergency case.

Insurance claims can be processed. Follow these instructions:

Complete and sign the medical claim form, indicating whether the doctor/Hospital has been paid. Once the following steps have been taken, please send claim form and attachments to your health insurance company.
Attach original itemized bills and/or receipts for all amounts being claimed. When reimbursement of an expense is approved, it will be made to the provider of the service unless the receipt of the bill is noted as having been paid by you. Payment will be made in U.S. dollars unless otherwise requested.
For foreign claims, provide a translation including all of the following elements: date of service, details of injury/illness, when injury/illness began, diagnosis, description of procedures performed on patient by doctor and approximate value (in U.S. $) of the currency that appears on the bill (s).
If payment is to be made to the provider of the service, the provider’s name, address, telephone number and taxpayer identification number (if the provider is in the U.S.) must be included on the bill receipt. If payment is to you, it will be mailed to your U.S. address unless otherwise requested.
