ENGLISH PLACEMENT TEST

The academic English entry requirement to study in the international programs of Rangsit University is IELTS 5 or equivalent.

Applicants can attach their recent IELTS scores taken during the last 2 years during the application online or take an English placement test (free-of-charge) upon arrival to test their level of English proficiency.

The Oxford Online Placement Test* has two sections; the Use of English and the Listening section. The Use of English and Listening sections are each scored out of 120. They are then equally weighted and combined to give an overall score of 120, with 20 points relating to each CEFR (Common European Framework of Reference).

The CEFR for Languages was put together by the Council in Europe as a way of standardizing the levels of language exams in different regions. It is very widely used internationally and all important exams are mapped to CEFR.

There are currently six levels of CEFR: A1, A2, B1, B2, C1, and C2. The following table below compares the CEFR scores with Rangsit University’s English language requirements.
